Murderbook Volume VI: The steady stream of misogynistic homicides becomes a torrent during pandemic
2017-2020
Today I am publishing the sixth volume of my unique Murderbook database, which takes us from January 2017 up until December 2020.
As Britain grappled with the consequences of the Brexit referendum, murders continued without pause and then of course in the spring of 2020 the world was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, which had a major effect on crime.
The murderbook featured in today’s Substack sadly includes too many women like Sabrina Mullings in 2017 (pictured, right), Terrie-Anne Jones (top left) in 2018 and Kayleigh Dunning (bottom left) in 2019 - who were murdered by their partners or former partners, and the lockdown only exacerbated the trend.
